Methodology
How this site is written
Cert Notes is written by a practicing AWS engineer with several years of production experience and the Cloud Practitioner and Solutions Architect Associate certifications. Everything here is verified first and written by hand with AI assited research/drafting.
How service notes are written
Each service page starts from a plain description of what the service does, then adds, the exam triggers, the notes, defaults, and gotchas. Those notes come from experience, not from paraphrasing documentation.
How questions are written
Every question is either written from scratch or drafted with AI assistance and then rewritten and verified by hand. No question is copied from another site, a forum, a question bank, or exam material. Each question includes an explanation of why the correct answer is correct and might include why each wrong answer is wrong, because "why not B" is usually the thing you're actually trying to learn.
Verification against AWS documentation
AWS changes limits, defaults, and service behaviour constantly, and study material goes stale fast. Every service and question entry carries a verification date and a link to the specific AWS documentation page it was checked against. You'll see this at the bottom of each page: "Verified against AWS documentation · [date]." If a date looks old, treat the specifics with suspicion and check the linked source yourself.
Update cadence
New content is published deliberately slowly — a small number of reviewed pages and questions each week, rather than large batches. Slow-and-verified is a feature, not a limitation: it's what keeps every page accurate and worth reading. Existing pages are re-checked and their verification dates updated as AWS changes things.
